Nelson Rolihlahla MandelaWe will visit Soweto, where Nelson Mandela once lived, Robben Island, where he spent 27 years and The Apartheid Museum. Learn first hand about the experiences and conditions that helped to shape his life. Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. Madiba was South Africa's first democratically elected black President. His government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid through tackling institutionalised racism and fostering racial reconciliation.
